The chamber is heated to temperatures in excess of 1,300°C to 1,600°C and pressed to pressures up to 59,200 atm.
This carbon then melts under the extreme conditions and crystallises around the seed, gradually forming a diamond. The composition of the metal flux can vary, but it often includes a mix of iron, nickel, and cobalt elements that help lower the temperature required for diamond formation.

These carbon atoms rain down upon the seed, gradually encouraging it to form diamonds layer by layer, as if crystals are growing in slow motion.
The CVD technique is also highly controlled so that colour, clarity and size can be altered according to the designers preference. Plus, it grows diamonds that are cleaner and eco-friendlier.
